Top European teams passed up the chance to get Cristiano Ronaldo, a former Manchester United superstar, for as little as £80,000 per week.

According to rumors, super agent Jorge Mendes pitched the football legend to several clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Ronaldo reportedly wanted to reduce his weekly salary to £80,000 but was unable to find a suitable team.

The Portugal goal machine, according to The Athletic, was desperate to remain in Europe and compete in the UEFA Champions League.

After being unsuccessful in getting a transfer to a Champions League team, Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus player, who is currently the highest-paid athlete living in Saudi Arabia, thought that the new manager of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, had mistreated him.

However, Ronaldo stated he had other offers on the table from Champions League clubs but chose to join Al Nassr when his transfer to Arab was complete.
