Shehu Sani, a former federal legislator, praised the Nigerian police for apprehending the attackers of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, after they attacked his vehicle.
Recall that on November 10 during a rally for the presidential election in Borno State, an attack took place on the former vice president’s motorcade.
Abdul Umar, the commissioner of police for Borno State, reported on Thursday that his department had detained and brought nine of the attackers to justice.
Shehu Sani responded by commending the police but urging them to exert more effort and see that the criminals responsible for the attack on the PDP presidential rally in Kaduna State are also held accountable.
The former candidate for governor made the following statement in a tweet posted on his official account: “The Police arrest and arraignment of individuals who attacked Atiku Abubakar’s convoy during his visit to Borno State is commendable.
“Those who attacked the PDP Presidential candidate’s rally in Kaduna have not yet been charged,”
