Senator Smart Adeyemi (APC-Kogi) on Tuesday urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to apologize to Nigerians for selling the country’s assets rather than running for president.
Adeyemi, who represents Kogi West in the National Assembly, announced this at a seminar themed ‘Tinubu/Shettima Renewed Hope 2023’.
He believes Atiku should persuade Nigerians to sell the country’s national riches.
“Atiku [Abubakar], as chairman of privatisation, sold our collective wealth, and that was the cause of poverty and insecurity in Nigeria,” Adeyemi stated.
“So, Atiku should first apologize to Nigerians for the manner in which they spent N16 million dollars on electricity holding and yet we do not have 24 hour power supply.”
