Speculations abound as Obasanjo pays a visit to Amosun in Abeokuta

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a visit to former Ogun State governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Wednesday.

Obasanjo paid Amosun a visit at his Ibara GRA mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun State’s capital.

The visit will take place exactly one month before the presidential election on February 25, 2023.

Though the visit was reported to be to congratulate Amosun on his 65th birthday, there are concerns that the combination of Amosun and Obasanjo may be planning something ahead of the 2023 elections.

According to a kuryaloaded correspondent, the visit, which was also Obasanjo’s first to Amosun on his birthday, occurred on the same day that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, was to campaign in Ogun.

According to Obasanjo’s media adviser, Kehinde Akinyemi, the former president paid Amosun a visit to wish him a happy 65th birthday.

Obasanjo arrived at Amosun’s house at 7 a.m. to pray for the celebrant, his wife, and his household, according to Akinyemi.

According to the kuryaloaded, Obasanjo is backing Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the 2023 election.

Amosun, an APC member, has promised to back Tinubu’s presidential bid, despite his absence from the APC campaign event in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
