After the termination of gasoline subsidy, which has resulted in pains and high cost of goods and services, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye, National Chairman of the South West Agenda For Asiwaju, SWAGA, has asked for understanding.
As a result of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to end fuel subsidies, the price of a gallon of gas in Nigeria has risen to almost N617.
In a statement released to KURYALOADED on Sunday, he blamed the previous governments’ reluctance to end the fuel subsidy for the current economic hardships in Nigeria.
Adeyeye, who served as the Senate’s spokesperson in the 9th National Assembly, expressed confidence that the situation would improve shortly.
Inflationary pressure has increased as a result of President Bola Tinubu’s new exchange rate regime and the removal of oil subsidies, according to the statement. The general public is experiencing some difficulty as a result of this.
There is no gain without pain, as the old adage goes. The president is correct in saying, “A woman’s happiness does not depend on the ease with which she gives birth; rather, it depends on the safety with which her child is born.”
He argued that Nigerians should consider President Tinubu’s economic reforms as being in the country’s best interest.
He predicted that the effects of eliminating the subsidy would become apparent within a year.
The president has been in office for almost 60 days now. After only two years in office, he still has nearly 46 months remaining in his first term.
It’s been nearly 15 years since these kind of decisions were due, but President Bola Tinubu is now making them.
He said that the Nigerian people needed to give President Tinubu’s programs time to bear fruit before they could observe any beneficial results.
