Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has stated that the team will not “burn money” in their pursuit of a new striker.
Following the termination of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract in November, the Red Devils are hoping to bolster their forward line with a new player.
With only 24 goals from 16 games this season, United has the lowest striking rate among the top six clubs.
No side in the top 10 has scored fewer goals at home than United, who only have 12 from seven games played there.
Marcus Rashford leads the club with six Premier League goals, but Ten Hag has expressed concern over his team’s inability to score goals.
“When all the players are available, I think we have a terrific team, but with so many games coming up, I think there is a need [for a new striker].”
“But you need one who can make a difference; otherwise, you’re wasting money and not improving the team. You won’t benefit from it, Ten Hag remarked.
