Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, wants the team to recruit Goncalo Ramos from Benfica after losing out to Liverpool in the competition to sign Cody Gakpo.
In the summer, United made an attempt to sign Gakpo from PSV but ultimately decided to buy Antony for £85 million.
The 23-year-old was anticipated to be returned to the Red Devils, but Liverpool intervened and reached a £50 million agreement with the Dutch club.
The Mirror claims that Ten Hag is now trying to sign Ramos.
In his contract, Ramos, who scored a hat-trick for Portugal against Switzerland in the World Cup’s round of 16, is given a €120 million (£103 million) release clause.
The 21-year-old has scored nine goals so far this season in the league.
