All Nigeria Railway property and land that has been illegally occupied would be reclaimed, according to the federal government.
This was just made public in Gombe by the Railway Property Management Company Limited (RPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigeria Railway Corporation.
According to Timothy Zalanga, managing director of RPMC, the government has established a task team to realize the goal.
He said the task team will undertake an audit across the country to locate properties for which documentation had been missing.
“Railway is returning to serve Nigerians, and the interest of the Nigerian people as a whole is more important than the interest of any one person.
He said, “We will not sacrifice the interest of a larger majority of Nigerians on individual bias, so we advise anybody who has built on the track or somewhere within the limit of a right of way to remove the structure.”
