The governor of Zamfara has pledged to increase educational funding

On Wednesday, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State made good on his pledge to allocate more money to education in the state budget.

In Gusau, the state capital, the governor made the promise during the 23rd matriculation ceremony of Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS).

According to a statement released by Governor Sulaiman Bala Idris’s spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, ZACAS includes the Schools of Science and Technology, Law, Art and Humanities, Media and Information, and Basic Studies.

Parts of the announcement stated as follows: “The matriculation ceremony commemorated the ushering in of newly admitted 2,369 students for the institution’s 2023/2024 academic session.

The Governor has stated that the College’s success in meeting its commitments can be gauged by the large number of graduates over the years.

In line with the Social Development Goals for education, the governor of Zamfara State has committed to providing free, high-quality education to all citizens.

His government will handle finance, laboratories, affiliation, accreditation, and institutional structure changes, among other issues affecting colleges and universities, he said, and he praised the College for its outstanding efforts in opening doors for young people.

“Governor Lawal assured his will to invest massively in upgrading the infrastructure and other learning tools in all tertiary institutions,” as part of his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education.

Prior to this, Dr. Yakubu Sani, Provost of the Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS), praised the governor for being the largest donor of scholarships over the past decade.
