chief of the now-defunct National Conscience Party (NCP) and presidential candidate in the 2015 general election, the only person who can put an end to the political crisis in Rivers is President Bola Tinubu.
This came from an interview that Onovo gave to Newsmen on Sunday in Lagos; he is an activist and the head of policy positions for the Movement for Fundamental Change (MFC).
He went on to say that the political crisis in the oil-rich state had persisted for far too long and that the president’s involvement was necessary to put a stop to it.

He claims that the situation will be resolved after the President speaks with Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and the former governor of Rivers, to discuss the necessity of reconciling with the state’s governor.
Tinubu is the only one who can end the political upheaval in Rivers. All it takes for the president to speak with Nyesom Wike is a phone call.Telling Wike to sheathe his sword is Tinubu’s way of ending the crisis.
In his role as minister, Wike is assisting the president. To keep the peace, I believe the president may speak with him and his River followers.
It would be really appreciated if the President could just instruct the former governor to focus on his duties in Abuja and let the individuals currently in charge of Rivers state handle such matters.
“Wike will listen to that. That is all. Refusing to take the president’s advice is something the minister is familiar with. So, Tinubu can step in and fix this, he added.
According to Onovo, godfatherism is a political problem that hinders the achievement of democratic dividends and good administration.
The former NCP head claims that godfatherism is a major cause of instability in politics and that the political arena needs to be cleansed of it.
According to NAN, the divide between Wike and Gov. Fubara has recently caused political tension in Rivers.
