As families and friends prepare for the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, CP Sadiq Idris Abubakar, the newly appointed commissioner of police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, has congratulated the locals.

According to a statement made by DSP Josephine Adeh, the command’s spokesman, the CP also forbids the use and sale of all types of explosives, firecrackers, and knockouts throughout the FCT.

He pointed out that the order was a part of a proactive endeavor by the Police to maintain some degree of peace in the FCT and effectively restrict crime, especially that which is specific to the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.

According to the PPRO, the CP has deployed both overt and covert security measures to guarantee that people of the FCT can celebrate the holiday season in a relatively tranquil setting.

Additionally, he gave orders to all Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Police Units in the nation’s capital to implement the prohibition as strictly as possible and make sure that anyone who disobeys the order is apprehended and prosecuted.

The CP advised everyone to reject all forms of violence and embrace love and peace, which are the true meaning of the season.
