Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State claims he is being threatened for his political career.
Eno claimed that members of the political establishment pressured them to split funds or fear losing their seats.
On Saturday, in Uyo, the state capital, he made the announcement to the press.
The Governor has asked lawmakers to cease interfering with his administration so he may focus on solving problems for the people of the State.
The political establishment has allegedly threatened Eno numerous times, prompting him to announce that he will not seek reelection.
I am investing in rural development because a successful first term is preferable to an ineffective second.
To paraphrase, “I don’t want to put more money in one person’s hands to the detriment of the 7.9 million population.”
Eno pleaded with the political establishment to give him till December to reform the State’s governing framework.
