Wout Weghorst, Manchester United’s January addition, claimed it was’special’ for him to score his first Red Devils goal during his side’s 3-0 Carabao Cup semi-final win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Weghorst, on loan from Burnley, scored Manchester United’s second goal against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes also scored for Erik ten Hag’s team.
“It was a fantastic night for us. A fantastic result, and of course, following this first match, winning is a tremendous chance to advance to the final,” Weghorst told Sky Sports.
“Every game is special, and you want to score goals. You want to have this first one as soon as possible, so I was overjoyed.”
“I think it was also a significant occasion,” he continued. It made us feel fantastic during the break.”
