Posted by Kagara Emirate residents have been hit hard by bandits, and Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has expressed his condolences to them.
He urged the populace to take precautions and share information with the proper authorities so that they could take preventative measures.
It was determined that the incident happened somewhere around Sunday night. Three people were taken hostage, and two security guards were hurt, in this attack. While traveling through a major thoroughfare with cattle suspected of being rustled, the gunmen opened fire on security personnel stationed at the Garin Gabas Primary School.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, released a statement in which he called the attack sad.
He expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and asked for the public’s patience, saying that his administration would leave nothing to chance in protecting the population of the state and their property.
Bago praised the security guards who confronted the robbers and promised his organization’s unwavering support.
He hoped that the two injured security officers would get well soon, and that the hostages would be returned to their families unharmed.
The injured security officers are now being cared for in a state-run hospital.
