In order to improve security, the Katsina State Government has outlawed the usage of commercial motorcycles and tricycles at night in 19 local government areas.
The prohibition is in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., explained Nasiru Mu’azu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement on Sunday.
The directive, according to the declaration, applies to local government regions that have been severely affected by banditry and other associated crimes.
“Among them (local government areas) are Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari and Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari and Kankia,” the statement said.
He clarified that the general public should understand that the order’s goal is to bring back long-lasting peace to the places that the bandits are currently torturing.
