The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has been informed of the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom, HRM, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1,’s displeasure over the failing section of the Ilawe to Ado Ekiti road in Ekiti State.

The monarch encouraged the governor to move swiftly to repair the damaged section of the Ilawe to Ado Ekiti road in a statement released on Tuesday morning, signed by his media adviser, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, and forwarded to our correspondent.

He urged Oyebanji to move quickly to fix the caved-in section of the Ado-Ilawe road that occurred four months ago and has caused suffering for the residents of the town and all drivers that use the road.

While praising the state government for starting to fix the damaged drainage in another section of the road, he urged the government to instruct the site contractor to start working right once on the enormous gulf, which has turned into a death trap.

Regarding the upcoming general elections, the king asked all politicians in Nigeria to refrain from using violence, while also urging those in his realm to put an end to uncalled-for infighting, which he referred to as having a “Crab Mentality” and which would be detrimental to everybody.

He praised the Ilawe people for their collaboration and urged them to carry on the excellent work in the upcoming year as he reviewed developments from the previous year and rolled out projections for the new year 2023.
