Managers REA Ahmad and others face suspension by Tinubu following allegations of N1.2 billion in fraud

The REA Ahmad Salihijo Ahmed, the managing director of the Rural Electrification Agency, and three executive directors have been suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu due to the illegal embezzlement of N1.2 billion over the last two years.

The news broke on Thursday via a statement from Media andPublicity.

Besides Olaniyi Alaba Netufo, who is the executive director of corporate services, the other two directors are barka sajou, who is the executive director of technical services, and Sa’adatu balgore, who is the executive director of the rural electrification fund (REF).

A broader probe of the actions of the aforementioned officials was authorized by the president.

Tinubu went ahead and announced their successor in the following manner:

The head of the company, Abba Abubakar Aliyu,

The executive director of corporate services, Ayoade Gboyega

Technical Services and Umar Abdullahi Umar, Executive Director

The Rural Electrification Fund (REF) is headed by Doris Uboh.

Olufemi Akinyelure is the leader of the Nigeria Electrification Project’s project management unit.
