There will be a national planning committee for the funeral of the late Chief Mbazulike Amechi, the First Republic of Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation.
Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, a well-known Nigerian politician, patriot, and businessman, would serve as chairman of the committee in charge of preparing the funeral, according to a press release sent on behalf of the family by Tagbo I. Amechi.

Alh. Tanko Yakasai, Chief Edwin Clark, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Simon N. Okeke, Sen. Adolphus Wabara, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, and Chief Emeka Ihedioha are among the committee’s members.
Drs. Ogbonnaya Onu, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Arc. Obong Victor Attah, Dr. Sam Egwu, Chief Achike Udenwa, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, CON, Dame Virgy Etiaba, and Senator Theodore Orji are some of the others.

According to the release, the committee will reveal further information on the burial when it is appropriate.
Amechi have long had the distinction of being the only remaining members of the precolonial Zikist movement.
He had a reputation for being outspoken and had frequently entered debates involving the Igbo people. The most recent was the demand for the release of the head of the secessionist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), which supports the independent state of Biafra.
Before he passed away in November 2022, Amechi urged Buhari to allow him the release of Kanu as his final wish.
