Martin Braithwaite, a former Barcelona striker, said that when he first joined the Blaugrana from CD Leganes back in 2020, Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi helped him feel at home at Camp Nou.
When recalling his time using Messi’s changing room, who he believes to be very down to earth, Braithwaite said this.
The 31-year-old added that he was pleased for Messi because Argentina and he had just won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Before Messi departed Barcelona for PSG in the summer of 2021, Braithwaite was a colleague of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
He was one of the first players to see me after I signed with Barcelona and inquire about my well-being, according to Braithwaite, speaking to Football Espana.
“He made me feel at ease at the club, which demonstrates how genuine and down to earth he is. Even though everyone recognizes him, he is absolutely composed and modest in the dressing room.
“I am thrilled for him,” he continued. I believe the World Cup was the only thing missing from his career, and he has since accomplished all a footballer is capable of.
