Ian Wright, a legendary member of the Arsenal team, has stated that manager Mikel Arteta needs to examine his performance in games.
The former Arsenal player claimed that because Arteta is his manager, he does not really want to criticize him.
Football fans and experts have been talking a lot about Arteta’s antics on the sidelines.
After the Arsenal manager lost his cool during their goalless draw in the Premier League last night, Newcastle icon Alan Shearer criticized the former midfielder.
As Newcastle frustrated his team, Arteta was spotted running out of his technical area and arguing with the fourth official.
Wright believes that Arteta’s antics are comparable to those of other Premier League managers, both active and retired.
In an interview with Premier League Productions, Wright described Arteta as “so hooked into the game, that’s the way he is.”
“Some managers, like Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, and Pep Guardiola, are like that.
“People are talking about it a lot right now, so I’m sure he’ll give it some thought. He is my manager, therefore I won’t hold it against him too much.
