Quique Setien, the manager of Villareal, has provided an explanation for his team’s 2-1 La Liga victory over Real Madrid on Saturday.
Setien credited his players for a strong start against Real Madrid for his team’s victory, noting that they controlled the opposition’s half and created opportunities.
On Saturday, Villarreal overcame Real Madrid at the El Madrigal due to goals from Yeremy Pino and Gerard Moreno, which was observed by the former Barcelona coach.
In his post-game press conference, Setien observed, “We started well, dominating the opponent’s half and creating chances.”
“We experienced some setbacks, but overall we were successful in both ways.
“We concentrated on this aspect in this game,” he continued, “because if you allow Madrid have the ball, it will cause more issues for you.
“We had a tendency, and our press work was successful. The match makes me joyful.
