Posted by The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has warned Nigerian youths against the “Japa phenomenon,” or the mass flight to other countries.
The Muslim group asserted that Nigeria is superior to other nations that appear to draw young people in various ways.
It also urged Nigerians to refrain from criticizing the administration.
The recommendation was included in a statement released on Wednesday by Professor Ishaq Akintola, the organization’s director.
“What is currently referred to as the “Japa syndrome” deeply disturbs us. This phenomenon is a major outflow of educated men and women from Nigeria in search of better opportunities in Europe and America. This behavior is bad for our nation, especially for young people. It is cowardly and an escape.
“Frequently, fleeing your country puts you in danger of falling into a fire. For instance, modern life is not as idyllic as it once was in Britain, France, and America. This has been demonstrated by recent economic status assessments.
“MURIC will keep advancing the values of perseverance, nationalism, morality, integrity, accountability, and good governance. We won’t give up in our struggle against corruption, negativity, greed, and sloth.
