The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has announced that the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards, or PVCs, in various Registration Areas/Wards would begin on Friday, January 6, and last through January 15.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs. Geraldine Ekelemu, released a statement on Thursday that included Mr. Mark Usulor, Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity, of the commission in Rivers State.

Usulor claims that from January 16 to January 22, PVC collecting from the Registration Area/Wards will return to the INEC Local Government offices.

He urged individuals who couldn’t pick up their PVCs at the Commission’s LGA offices to take advantage of the recent change and do so at the Registration Areas/Wards within the allotted timeframes.

He pleaded with all parties involved to create a calm and supportive environment so that the Commission employees could successfully complete the exercise at the state’s 319 Registration Areas/Wards within the allotted time. (NAN)
