Stop insulting Weghorst, he’s unique – Manchester United veteran tells Ronaldo fans

Paul Parker, a Manchester United icon, has encouraged Cristiano Ronaldo supporters to quit disparaging the club’s January transfer signing, Wout Weghorst.

To fill the vacuum left by Ronaldo’s mid-season departure, Manchester United signed Weghorst on loan from Burnley for the remainder of the season.

Last summer, Ronaldo agreed to end his contract with Manchester United on mutual grounds.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a multi-million dollar deal with Al-Nassr earlier this month.

Many supporters believe Weghorst is a step down from Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford.

Parker, on the other hand, has backed the Dutchman, arguing that he brings a different profile to Erik ten Hag’s side.

“I think people have been too harsh on Wout Weghorst,” Parker told Soccer News Netherlands. He’s just played three games, so judging him is premature. But this is Manchester United, and you will be judged. Every single player is under tremendous strain, and they must deal with it 24 hours a day.”

“And people must remember that he is not a Ronaldo,” he continued. Ronaldo was a superior footballer, but this guy brings something new to the table. He works hard and wants to assist the club. However, all of Ronaldo’s supporters are smearing the idiom, which is a travesty. They should worry about the club’s performance rather than their idol, who has a new existence in a league that only his followers care about.”
