Vincent Aboubakar was let go by Al Nassr so that Cristiano Ronaldo could be signed.
Al-Riyadh, a Saudi news source, reports that Aboubakar is currently eligible for a free transfer.
The departure of the Cameroonian striker frees up a non-foreign registration spot for Ronaldo.
Ronaldo would only need to miss one more game because of his English FA suspension if he was registered.
The 37-year-old is most likely to make his Pro League debut on January 22 when Al-Nassr plays Al-Ettifaq.
While in Saudi Arabia, Aboubakar scored 13 goals and provided six assists, and Manchester United has been mentioned in connection with him.
