Some people would be happy to have even one child, while others would have no qualms with ignoring their own. Having children is a mixed blessing. Think about the Ugandan man who lost his cool when he discovered that his wife had recently given birth to their fifth set of twins. Despite having numerous pairs of twins, Nalongo Gloria has never used in vitro fertilization (IVF).
After giving birth to her ninth and tenth children, the Ugandan woman reportedly separated from her husband, Ssalongo, who felt he could no longer support the family because “it wasn’t normal.”
“When I got pregnant with twins again, my man stated that this was too much for him and asked me to go home,” Nalongo Gloria said. She arrived to Kampala, the capital of Uganda, to work as a housegirl but had no idea where to go because she had lost contact with her family. He told her that if she couldn’t have just one child, he couldn’t support her.
One day the wife came home to discover that her husband had upped and left. She hasn’t heard from him again since and has been working to support her children. She nevertheless has no regrets and trusts in God.
She doesn’t feel bad about having so many children. “I cannot abandon them, even if I am aware that their father disapproves of them. No matter how challenging things get, I’ll never abandon my kids. I have faith that God will provide,” Gloria stated. “God knows best, I told myself through my pain.”
Nalongo has seven children still living at home with her after her oldest set of twins moved out, and another child passed away. The woman’s landlord just informed her that he no longer wants her or any of her “baggage,” thus their future is unknown.
