On Friday, the Nigerian Army announced that 122 senior officers had been promoted.
52 Brigadier Generals were meritoriously promoted to the rank of Major General, while 70 colonels were also promoted to the position of Brigadier General, according to a statement released on Friday by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, director of Army Public Relations.
The promotion of senior commanders to the positions of Major General and Brigadier General has been accepted by the Army Council on Thursday, December 15, 2022, in honor of their excellent service to the country, he added.
According to him, Brigadier Generals AA Ayanuga of the Department of Army Transformation and Innovation, EH Akpan of the Theatre Command Operation HADIN KAI, NM Jega of the Defence Headquarters, JO Ugwuoke of the Department of Army Logistics, PAO Okoye of the Department of Army Operations, EF Oyinlola of the Department of Special Services and Programs, AA Adekeye of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade, AE
Colonels AO Ajagbe, JO Ogbobe, MG Hammawa, SS Bello, SOG Aremu, NG Mohammed, OI Odigie, CA Osuagwu, MO Eteng, and ED Idima are a few of the colonels promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, urged the promoted officers to continue serving the country with dedication, selflessness, and loyalty in order to uphold the confidence and trust placed in them by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Nigerian Army, and all Nigerians in general.
