Niger’s Governor Bago has resigned all of his political appointees

All political appointees serving in Niger State before to May 29, 2023, have been removed from their positions by Governor Mohammed Bago.

In a statement released by the SSG on Monday, Governor Bago announced the immediate dissolution of the bodies and the termination of the appointments.

In addition, the governor has dissolved all governmental commissions, boards, and parastatals required by law, as stated in the release.

As a further call to action, the SSG demanded that affected parties start implementing the directive immediately.

The statement thanked the affected individuals for their contributions to the development of the State and the office’s affairs and instructed them to turn over all government property in their possession to the most senior directors in their respective organizations.

Members of the dissolved commissions, boards, parastatals, and political appointees were wished well by the governor.
