Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent in Italy, Silvio Pagliari, has advised him to take a pay cut if he wishes to stay in Europe.
He asserts that it would be absurd for any club to sign the 37-year-old captain of Portugal at his current salary.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United was terminated last month after more than a half-year, leaving him a free agent.
Under new manager Erik ten Hag, the football legend’s playing time was reduced after scoring 24 goals for the Red Devils in all competitions the previous season.
The club then terminated his contract after the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar gave an explosive interview to Piers Morgan in which he launched a scathing attack against the team and the manager.
The only team seriously interested in signing Ronaldo is the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, and Pagliari said that he is no longer worth investing in.
“At those costs, he [Cristiano Ronaldo] is no longer worth investing in, it doesn’t make sense, and there isn’t a European team that can afford to sign him,” Pagliari told CalcioMercato.
“He will end his career in some joyful paradise, or he will decide to shrink.”
