Patrice Evra, a former player for Manchester United, has encouraged the team not to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
Felix, in Evra’s opinion, is not the player Man United now needs.
Felix is eager to move on from Atletico Madrid in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Portuguese national team has been associated with a number of elite European teams, including Chelsea and Man United.
Evra told Betfair, “I liked Joao Felix and I appreciated what a tremendous World Cup he had.
“Diego Simeone is a wonderful player, so I’m shocked that things haven’t worked out for him at Atletico Madrid.
“If he does go to the UK, he will relish competing for any team in the Premier League. I don’t want to promote him as a Manchester United target because whenever we do, nobody ever ends up signing.
“He’s an excellent player and if he’s not happy at Atletico, the Premier League will welcome him with open arms.
“It seems sense that we need another attacker because we need to replace Cristiano Ronaldo’s 20 goals. We have Martial, Garnacho, and Rashford on the field, but we also need a killer—someone who is driven by ambition.
“I don’t care if they perform well, I just want them to score goals. Because of this, I don’t believe Joao Felix is the ideal player for United at this time.
