The All Progressives Congress (APC) has a prominent member in Femi Fani-Kayode, who has likened the actions of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to those of terrorists.
On Friday, he compared the IPOB secessionists to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) rebels in response to the ongoing one-week sit-at-home being enforced by Simon Ekpa’s branch of the group.
As evidence, FFK posted a video showing students and teachers being brutalized by the sit-at-home enforcers on Wednesday. The group claims the attack was carried out by Obidients, followers of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Behold the achievements of the Obidient movement’s armed wing in the name of Biafra,” he penned. While Gburugburu was in charge, Enugu was reasonably calm, but now we’re seeing this horrific barbarity with children.
I don’t know what to say. In a word, this is evil. When compared to Boko Haram and ISWAP, are the Biafran/Obidient footsoldiers any better? I have rarely seen anything so evil, and I strongly denounce it. We have to take action!
To protest IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu’s continued incarceration, the Ekpa faction of the secessionist group called for a weeklong sit-in across the whole Southeast.
