Patrick Akpobolokemi, a former director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, and his wife Beauty are allegedly out for his life, according to retired Department of State Service employee Mr. Kelly Ojobokeme.

Kelly claimed that Akpobolokemi enlisted the help of three armed police officers to beat him before detaining him at Ekeki Police Station in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, during a weekend interview with kuryaloaded at the NUJ Secretariat Complex.

He claimed that in order to stop Akpobolokemi from making more attempts on his life, he had filed a court application for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

Kelly claimed that unidentified persons had attempted efforts to kidnap him, and he had continued to get ominous and threatening phone calls from unknown callers.

The general public should be aware that Patrick Akpobolokemi wants to take my life, he stated. He considers me to be his worst adversary. Along with calling me names, the wife is also playing a video of how she beat me to a pulp. This implies that they won’t put an end to everything until they have killed me.

“The former NIMASA boss is still planning to assassinate me despite appearing in court. Therefore, I should go in front of the people and beg for assistance. Make sure everyone knows, so if anything were to happen to me, Patrick Akpobolokemi and his wife would be held accountable.

“He is currently involving the police in a non-issue.” After my initial dehumanization and confinement at the Ekeki Police Station, I was once held at the Area Command in Opolo before being moved to the Zone 16 Office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police.

“I have seen the entire case, and the only issue they had with me was because I used to pray with his younger brother, Mr. Clement Akpobolokemi, who is my friend, and for reasons only he knows, my prayers became a threat to him.

Kelly further claimed that the DSS’s interference during his time there prohibited the previous NIMASA boss from speaking to him.

But now that he knows I’ve left the DSS, he’s using his connections, resources, and influence to plot my death.

“I’ve been getting a lot of really weird calls. I don’t have anything against anyone else, but only this one person has come out and beat me up and hurt me without saying sorry. He never expressed regret toward me; not even to his relatives.

He continued, “Patrick Akpobolokemi and his wife should be held accountable if anything happens to my life, the lives of my family, or the lives of his brother, Clement Akpobolokemi.
