Benue State’s Governor Samuel Ortom ratified the N179. 7 billion 2023 allocation bill on Thursday.

The appropriation bill for 2023 set aside N73.5 billion for capital expenditure and N106.1 billion for recurrent expenses.

Ortom praised the Assembly members for their support, the quick work they did on the budget, and for approving and presenting it to the executive as he signed the law.

He expressed his gratitude to the 9th Assembly for their cooperation and understanding, which he claimed helped them fulfill their goals and win the state.

Many of us are anticipating a turnaround, rebranding, and refocusing, according to Ortom. Although we as humans have tried, we still have faith that God will come to our aid and grant us peace, hope, and all the other things that will make the new year pleasurable.

Mr. Chris Adaji, the deputy speaker of the Benue State House of House, had earlier assured the governor that the assembly was committed to passing laws for the state’s good governance and the welfare of its citizens.

Additionally, he gave the governor the assurance that the assembly will support him in his efforts to benefit the state’s citizens even as his term as governor comes to an end the next year.
