Al Hilal of the Saudi Arabia Professional League, according to Odion Ighalo, has a good chance of taking home the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup trophy.

Al Hilal will compete on behalf of the Asian Football Confederation in the competition, which takes place in Morocco from February 1–11.

Real Madrid, the European champion, and Flamengo, the South American champion, are heavy favorites to win the match.

Ighalo, who was a member of the Al Hilal team that finished fourth in the previous competition, is adamant that his team can surprise the heavyweights.

The Nigerian said that Morocco’s strong performance in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup can serve as motivation for the current Asian champions.

The possibilities in football are endless. These days, it’s impossible to foresee what will happen. You can accomplish anything if you put in the effort and battle for it on the field of play. For example, take a look at Morocco in the World Cup,” Ighalo said to FIFA.com.

“They were not given an opportunity. They made it to the semifinal round and came close to winning. Al Hilal can compete, make it to the championship game, and win it because, in football, anything is possible if you put in the effort and have confidence in yourself.

Other teams competing in the match include Wydad Casablanca, Auckland City, and Seattle Sounders.
