Iheanacho discusses his game-winning goal against Gillingham

The winning goal that Kelechi Iheanacho scored for Leicester City against Gillingham on Saturday afternoon has been made public.

Iheanacho’s goal in the 56th minute separated the teams in a close game at Priestfield Stadium.

With a lovely left-footed strike, the 26-year-old put the finishing touches on a Leicester assault.

The Nigerian international has had difficulty getting regular playing time at Leicester City this season, but Brendan Rodgers was impressed with his professionalism.

“A striker’s instinct is all you need. Since there were already people gathered around the box and Vardy was running near the front post, I assumed he might cut it back. As a result, I waited at the box’s edge for the cutback to arrive before finishing. It was a nice finish, and I feared he might cut it back, Iheanacho told the club’s official website.

A total of 16 goals have been scored by the forward in 22 appearances for the Emirates FA Cup.
