The federal government has revealed that it taught one hundred adolescents in advanced vulcanizing services in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Prof Mohammed Haruna, Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, made this announcement in a statement issued on Monday by the commission’s Deputy Director, Information, Mr Olusegun Ayeoyenikan.
Mohammed stated that the commission has been emphasizing on new vulcanizing methods and capacity building through the use of current equipment in the vocation.
“The training will expose the beneficiaries to new skill sets that will require them to generate a fortune while maintaining a competitive edge in the vulcanizing business,” he says. In comparison to manual-based automobiles, the trainees will become a new generation of vulcanizing experts capable of providing modern vehicles with more electrical components and innovative technology.
Borno State’s Executive Governor, Engr. Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, stated that the state requires innovation skills in order to develop.
“City like Maiduguri where there is a significant number of automobiles,” Zulum, who was represented by the Acting Borno State Head of Service, Barrister Mallum Fanami, said. A person who works in the car repair industry should be in business since car owners always need their services to keep their vehicles on the road.
“As a result, vulcanizing, the emphasis of this unique training, is a highly sought-after job in car vehicle maintenance services. However, the difficulty has been a lack of technological adaptability and the usage of contemporary equipment in replacing tires, either for repairs of punctured tires or complete replacement,” he noted.
