Arsenal has said that Chelsea is “bullying” them because of their latest deal for Mykhailo Mudryk.
Gabriel Agbonlahor, who used to be captain of Aston Villa, said that the west London team took advantage of other clubs financially.
Mikel Arteta was very interested in Mudryk in January, and the Gunners thought they were about to sign the Ukrainian for £80 million.
Arsenal was sure that the Ukraine player would finish his move in time for the match against Manchester United next weekend.
But the Blues have changed the deal by agreeing to pay Shakhtar Donetsk a shocking £97 million for the 22-year-old player.
He reportedly signed a seven-year contract with Stamford Bridge and flew to London on Sunday for a medical.
“With this transfer, Chelsea has financially bullied Arsenal,” said the former captain of Aston Villa on talkSPORT.
“Arsenal were probably going to pay him £100,000 or £150,000 a week, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea offered him £250,000 or £300,000 a week!
“It will hurt Arsenal and the people who support Arsenal.”
