Rio Ferdinand discusses Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nasr

Rio Ferdinand, a hero at Manchester United, defended Cristiano Ronaldo’s choice to join Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia.

In a significant deal, Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr on Friday night and will stay with the team through 2025.

This comes after Ronaldo and Manchester United mutually agreed to end his contract last month.

And Ferdinand says he is “pleased for the Portugal captain” and thinks Ronaldo’s move to a new continent should be considered as an opportunity to expand his legacy.

Ferdinand remarked, “I am thrilled for him that he is now happy,” during an interview with FIVE on Vibe. Happiness and contentment in the playing environment are among the most crucial factors for any football player, regardless of level.

He hasn’t been content in a long, so I’m glad he’s about to find it, even if it’s in a place that not many people anticipated him to go.

“But what a chance that is, what an adventure that will be for him to go to Saudi [Arabia] and play in a brand-new league, by the way, a competitive league there.

“I have seen the comments and heard from a few pundits that it is a terrible way for him to leave. The manner in which it ended at Manchester United is the only sad part. In a few years, I believe he will reflect on how things could have been handled differently.
