Cody Gakpo was signed by Liverpool in January, and manager Jurgen Klopp praised him, calling him a joy to watch.
He claims that the Netherlands international has been “a joy to watch” in practice and that he is prepared to make his FA Cup debut on Saturday against Wolves.
The talented forward signed with the Reds last week after Klopp’s team outbid Chelsea and Manchester United for his services.
“He is a contender, yes. In the squad, of sure,” Klopp said during the Friday pre-game press conference.
“He is a good finisher and dribbler, and he is definitely happy. He plays football well.
The German coach described the former PSV star as “excellent” and noted that the Dutchman is a natural footballer.
Gakpo is a top goal scorer, in Klopp’s opinion, who is able to see the goal without having to look up.
According to him, the addition of the World Cup champion will inspire other Anfield players.
