Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has acknowledged that his club faces a “insanely difficult” assignment in order to finish in the top four of the Premier League and advance to the UEFA Champions League for the next season.

This week in a Premier League match, Liverpool was defeated 3-1 by Brentford, and Klopp witnessed the outcome.

Although Klopp’s team has been accustomed to competing for the Premier League championship in recent seasons, they are well behind this year.

They lost at Brentford on Monday, their fifth league loss of the year, and they are currently seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.

In an interview with Bild, Klopp acknowledged that the Reds had a lot of work to do to reclaim a berth in the UEFA Champions League.

“Obviously, winning the Champions League would be huge for us. That is tremendously challenging, added Klopp.

“Because we’ve largely arrived early in recent years, the people there are a little spoilt. It will be a last-minute choice, if it works out this year. We might not be able to catch up right away. But we are aware of what must be done.
