Why Arsenal is performing so well in the Premier League this year has been highlighted by Frank Lampard.
According to Lampard, Arsenal’s improvement was the result of significant investment rather than something that happened over night.
After being fired by Chelsea and succeeding Rafa Benitez 11 months ago, Lampard joined Everton.
Although Lampard was able to keep the Toffees in the first division, the team has been inconsistent this year and is currently in the relegation zone.
If Everton loses to Manchester United in the FA Cup tomorrow night, Lampard may be fired, but the manager and former Chelsea midfielder is confident he can turn the team around.
In fact, Lampard referred to the difficulties Mikel Arteta faced in his first two seasons at Arsenal before he helped them become title contenders, even though he did it only after investing more than £300 million on new players.
Lampard told the media on Thursday, “Yes, I have what I consider as improvement in the way we attempt to push the squad forward.”
If you look at Arsenal, the side that has performed the best in the Premier League this season, you won’t see any stories about them being league leaders.
Lampard insisted that the route for the gunners has never been simple, saying that if you look through their trip over the past three years, you can see how normally a journey may look.
The Toffees managed to hold Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in their last game before their 4-0 loss to Brighton on Tuesday.
