President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2023 appropriation bill on Tuesday, barring any unforeseen modifications.
After a private meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, Senator Ahmad Lawan, President of the Senate, said this to State House reporters.
Lawan also revealed that he spoke with the President about a number of national issues, including Buhari’s recent request for an additional loan as well as the legislature’s support for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the elections in 2023.
He said, “By the grace of God, we look forward to Mr. President signing the Appropriation Bill 2023 on Tuesday.
“This is due to certain aberrant data we had in the bill we gave to the National Assembly, which caused us to lose some time before signing the document yesterday.
But praise God, the Appropriation Bill 2023 was approved by the NASS [National Assembly] on Wednesday in both houses.
“And I believe that Mr. President will sign the Appropriation Bill 2023 first thing on Tuesday.”
