The policeman who fatally shot Bolanle Raheem on Sunday in Lagos has been identified.
The deceased’s organization, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), made the revelation rather than the police.
Public Secretary Habeeb Lawal revealed in a statement that the group of attorneys obtained the name of the suspected offender.
The NBA is able to inform that the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that one ASP Drambi Vandi is the person suspected of killing one of our members.
The statement added that the misbehaving cop has been a police officer for 33 years.
The name of the shooter was not mentioned in any of the various statements released on Monday by the Inspector-General and the Lagos State Police Command.
Nigerians criticized the coverage and questioned why the security service withheld such crucial information.
With the NBA’s disclosure, Vandi’s name is now publicly known in a case where first-degree murder charges may be brought.
On Christmas Day, Bolanle and her husband were returning from a trip when they were flagged down close to Ajah bridge.
When the police team that stopped them began to pursue their automobile, Vandi opened fire for an unidentified cause.
Toyin Lawani, the CEO of Tiannah Place Empire, characterized the deceased as a calm guy in a video.

She was shot in front of her daughter while on her way to order pizza for Christmas. Bolanle, who was expecting, passed away instantly.
