Cristiano Ronaldo will complete the remaining two and a half years of the agreement he had with Al-Nassr.
According to ESPN, there is no condition permitting Ronaldo to join Newcastle United on loan next season if they make the Champions League, according to sources at the Saudi Arabian club.
The reports had “fake” written next to them.
At 7 p.m. local time, Ronaldo will be formally introduced as an Al Nassr player.
After accepting a $75 million-per-year contract, he rose to the position of highest-paid player in football.
Ronaldo was rumored to be looking to return to Champions League play, but after he amicably ended his Manchester United contract, top European clubs passed on the 37-year-old.
Then, it was asserted, Ronaldo would only have joined Al-Nassr if a provision had been included to his contract allowing him to leave for Newcastle, whose principal owners are the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Furthermore, it was falsely stated in the paper that PIF also owns Al-Nassr.
