Nigerians detained in Cyprus for allegedly conducting a prostitution ring

Some Nigerians have been detained in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on suspicion of running a prostitution ring.

Sharon Blessing Chibuike, 38, Promise Ben David, 27, Chinedu Emmanuel Ibekweo, 19, and Esther Montse, 29 are the victims.

The four are charged with Forced Detention with Intent to Prostitute, Prostitution, and Intentional Sexual Sex Detention.

Vasvi zbey, a police officer, testified in court on Wednesday in sworn testimony.

On January 23, the police responded to a complaint filed by “OA” at the Nicosia Judicial Branch.

Blessing Chibuike resides in Nicosia, Cyprus’s capital, with OA, whom they brought from Nigeria to study in Turkey.

The suspects withheld the 28-year-passport, old’s compelling her to have sex with males in exchange for money.

The Nicosia District Court issued a search warrant, but no one could be found at the address.

The police got a court order on January 24 to take the suspects into custody for prosecution.

Two notebooks discovered at the address have now been added to the evidence. The suspects claim they are innocent.

Judge Nil Elodie eliker ordered their detention in police custody while the investigation is ongoing.
