Igho Ogbu, a former Flying Eagles defender, has joined Slavia Prague, the reigning Czech Republic champions.
Ogbu transferred from the Norwegian team Lillestrom to Eden Park.
A four-year contract was signed by the 23-year-old.
In 2020, the center-back relocated to Europe from Gombe United of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
After periods with Rosenborg, Levanger, and Sogndal, Ogbu has spent his whole professional career in Norway.
“I feel fantastic, and I’m grateful for the club’s warm welcome and the opportunity to sign here. Every player wants to leave a lasting legacy in the team they are joining by winning championships, he said, according to the club’s official website.
“I sincerely hope I’ll be successful in Slavia. I’m excited to meet the supporters and my new teammates.
Ogbu is now the third Nigerian to play for Slavia Prague, after Moses Usor and Peter Olayinka, who are already important members of the team.
