The Kwara State police command continues to enforce its prohibition on Okada and Keke NAPEP operators between the hours of 6am and 9pm.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Ilorin by the police public relations officer, Okasanmi Ajayi, the Kwara State Police Command indicated that this was confirmed.
In Kwara State, driving a motorcycle or a Keke NAPEP between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. is prohibited, the command “reminds,” he claimed.
This reminder is necessary, according to Okasanmi, because some political party followers believe falsely that Okada riders who were loyal to their party will be targeted by the implementation of the order prohibiting the movement of Okada and Keke NAPEP operators.
“No union leader has ever been detained by the police for endorsing a political party; if there has ever been an arrest, the detainee unquestionably committed a crime.”
According to him, the police command has been carrying out its duty honorably, impartially, and without fear or favor.
Political party supporters were instructed by the State Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, to avoid inflaming the political climate and to always stand up for the truth.
