If elected in the upcoming presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has vowed to put an end to hunger and poverty in Nigeria.

Obi urged Nigerians and residents of Ekiti State to support him in the election on February 25, 2023.

He spoke during his party’s Thursday State Pavilion massive event, which was held in Ado-Ekiti.

In his own words: “I will eradicate hunger and poverty in Nigeria and give good jobs to many unemployed graduates.

“Under my leadership, our nation will transition from consumption to production and reap the rewards of sound governance.

Since our kids would be well-cared for and less likely to leave the country in search of better opportunities, I will not only end corruption but also eradicate poverty in every State of the Federal Republic.

Please cast your vote for the Labour Party in the upcoming presidential election, dear people of Ekiti.

The flagbearer for the Labour Party added that the most qualified candidates for president are himself and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

In order to elect the most qualified candidates in the election of 2023, Obi further urged youths in the State and the wider public to abstain from vote buying and selling.

“Datti and I are the best qualified because this profession involves both physical and mental stamina, and you cannot compare our educational backgrounds with those of any other group. I abide by it, as do Datti.

“The election this year must be based on competence; we want candidates who are knowledgeable about the issues facing our nation.

The youth of Nigeria must take back their nation, he said, adding that we must not allow anyone to purchase our votes in the upcoming election. “Let anyone tell you it’s his turn, it’s nobody’s turn,” he stated.
