Ansu Fati, a forward for Barcelona, has previously given an explanation for his decision to turn off joining Real Madrid’s development academy, La Masia.
Fati claimed that because Real Madrid at the time lacked a residence for young players, joining La Masia was the greatest choice.
When he was 10 years old, the international from Spain transferred from Sevilla’s youth squad to La Masia.
In 2020, the 20-year-old was elevated to Barcelona’s first team.
According to Barca Universal, Fati explained why he chose Barcelona over Real Madrid: “Before I joined for Barca [Barcelona], I had a trial with Real Madrid.
The club at the time lacked a residence to house its young players.
Therefore, my father and I agreed that La Masia at Barca was the best choice.
