There are many football records that the two Ballon d’Or winners now hold, and no player has come close.
Ronaldo, though, will no longer be competing in Europe during the next two years after agreeing to a contract with Al-Nassr that will keep him with the team through 2025.
As a result, Messi, who presently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, has a chance to soon catch up to and break some of Ronaldo’s records.

Messi will have a difficult time surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal total in the UEFA Champions League this year.
